Dipita Chakraborty is Executive Director, Retailer & Shopper Practice, India Region for The Nielsen Company. In her current role, she is responsible for developing strategic relationships with key retailers, to help them better understand their shoppers.
Prior to this appointment, Dipita helped steer Nielsen’s Marketing RoI Practice globally and aided its foray into various geographies around the world including Latin America and Asia, leading a global team of more than 100 people.
Dipita came to Nielsen with the acquisition of The Modeling Group, a global Marketing RoI consultancy that was acquired by Nielsen in 2007. As a Founder and Managing Partner of The Modeling Group, Dipita worked closely with Procter and Gamble to define and evaluate their global strategy for more effective marketing practices. In this role, she also worked with several other Fortune 500 companies and expanded operations to cover sectors as diverse as pharmaceuticals, telecom, auto, financial and the entertainment industry. She was also instrumental in expanding the model to include digital media.
Dipita is a founding member of the Marketing Accountability Standards Board – an industry board that defines the standards of the marketing industry and has pioneered a well adopted model that maximizes promotional profitability at retail in the brand category.
Before her entrepreneurial foray, Dipita worked with Bristol Myers Squibb at the start of her career and then with MMA as the Account Manager on Kraft.
She holds an Engineering Degree from IIT Kharagpur and a Masters in Management & Policy (Major in Marketing) from the University of StonyBrook in New York.
