Sheen Sunny Akkara is Executive Director, Human Resources for Nielsen India Region. Sheen is responsible for providing leadership, direction and advice on key Human Resources’ initiatives across the region, including talent identification, development and assessment initiatives across business units.
Prior to joining Nielsen, Sheen worked with Deloitte consulting in Hyderabad, where he was responsible for leading Talent initiatives for its India operations. His role encompassed devising and delivering a Talent Strategy for the India office in alignment with Deloitte’s global vision of Talent Attraction, Retention and Total Rewards. Sheen was also instrumental in leading the growth of Deloitte India office from 500 resources at the time of his joining to 12000 resources during his tenure.
In a career spanning almost 20 years, Sheen has gained experience and expertise in Industrial Relations, Human Resource Development and Human Capital Consulting, and has worked across industries including Manufacturing, Services, Retail, Telecom, ITES and Professional Services. In the past he has worked with companies like Sutherland, Reliance Infocomm, DHL Worldwide Express, RPG Group, and MAC Group amongst others.
Sheen holds a Masters in Social Work (Medical & Psychiatry) from the Madras Christian College. He is based in Mumbai, India.
